When I was growing up my favorite series of books were Beatrix Potter & Dr. Seuss, I had the entire series of both and when I was old enough to read myself I reread them too many times to count!
To be able to go and visit where Beatrix Potter was inspired and the part of England she fell in love with, it was amazing. As you tour through the house (unfortunately, but understandably, no photography is allowed inside the house), they have her books opened to pages where the scene she drew/painted matched where you were in the house. It was really incredible to be standing where she imagined these scenes to play out and where her stories came to life.
When she died she left her sixteen farms and the 17th-century farmhouse (over 4,000 acres of land) to the National Trust. This enabled the preservation of the lands now included in the Lake District National Park and the continuation of fell farming.
I hope you all enjoy!

Visit Beatrix Potter’s House!
When you go to visit the house, you park at The Hill Top and right next door they have an adorable Tea Room! See photos below of the outdoor sitting area’s view.
On the drive back home I had to pull over to take photos of these brave people kite gliding on such a windy and stormy day! Really was amazing to see and what a view they must of had..
