If you live in Texas, or are from Texas, you’ll know that the weather is a funny thing here… Earlier in the afternoon on the day of the Kendall’s session it was in the 70s, but as we showed up to the park it had dropped to 40! The Kendall family were great about the temperature though and bundled up in between shots and different parts of the park. Thankfully the sun was shining, giving them some beautiful golden hour shots.
When Rika reached out to me wanting to do a family session I was excited to be a part of it. I love family portraits, and the bigger the family, the better! When I found out that it would be a total of 14 people I was really excited, big groups are always a lot of fun to work with. Rika further explained that her family hadn’t all been together in one place in quite a long time, making this session especially important. I felt honored with the opportunity to capture this.
Being a part of family’s coming together from all over the world and capture their memories while with one another is something so special to me. Personally, my family is spread all over the world, so I know how hard it can be to get everyone together, especially for photos! I love that we were able to do this in Spring so that all her family from out of town/country were able to enjoy the beauty of Texas bluebonnets!
Brandon, Rika’s son, was a great at helping me try to distract everyone from how cold it was and getting everyone to laugh. He was the brave one to climb into the trees first, making it look super easy for the younger kids, haha. Cheyenne was easily the one to make everyone laugh the most and wasn’t afraid of anything for the photos (including sitting on top of the bridge railing, and in the tree haha). Olivia and Amelia were too adorable in their beautiful matching dresses! They were so sweet in all their portraits together as sisters. Micah and Elijah looked so handsome in their button up shirts, and were so great in front of the camera!
Kendall family, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of this reunion of your family all together. I truly enjoyed getting to know you all and capturing these photos of your beautiful family. You guys were so much fun and I loved seeing all the love you have for each other! Seeing you guys joke around with one another made the session that much more fun. You guys are some of the best clients a photographer could ask for. :) I hope you guys enjoy your photos as much as I enjoyed being a part of capturing them!
Beautiful compositions Maegan. Happy family in a wonderful location. Dad.
Brilliant, saw the sneek peek on Pinterest and couldn’t wait to see the blog post. Just love these, beautiful family, looks like they had loads of fun. Variety of shots too, setting and lighting perfect.
