It was a perfect day for a maternity session with the Warne family. The sun was out, there was a gorgeous breeze, and it was just the right temperature – in the mid 60’s. We originally thought we may have to postpone the session because it was freezing and pouring with rain just the day before. The morning of their session, the temperature was still pretty low. Thankfully by mid-afternoon the sun came out and it got much warmer! I couldn’t have been happier for them as they also got a beautiful sunset during their session.
The Warne family had suggested a new park that I hadn’t been to yet. When I went to check it out before their session I was surprised I hadn’t seen it before. It was so beautiful!! Desiree mentioned how she loved the creek that ran through the park, and how she’d love to get photos featuring it. Once I saw it, I couldn’t have been more delighted to photograph her family there.
When I first saw the Warne family, I was that much more excited, their outfits were PERFECT! Firstly, everyone needs to know that Desiree is definitely Super Mum. She looked so gorgeous in her dress; she was glowing! She also wore wedges and handled them better than I can — haha. I love how all their clothes colours complemented one another, but didn’t match or blend. Logan’s bright shorts were the best and I love how they brought out the colour of the flowers in his Mum’s dress.
Desiree is due the first week of May with a little girl! Logan is such a sweetheart and seems more than ready to become a big brother. Throughout the entire session he kept bringing his Mum flowers, just because. He was also a great help in getting his Mum & Dad to laugh as I took some photos of just them by themselves. He stood right next to me making all the funny faces he could come up with.
Seeing Bryan and Desiree together was the sweetest thing. I love maternity sessions and all the emotions that come with being a part of them. There is something so special about seeing the love shared between two parents, as well as expecting parents. Also being a part of this special session that they wanted to share with their son, Logan, was perfect. The love and bond he has with both Desiree and Bryan is too adorable. Logan was more than happy to give his Mum lots of snuggles and kisses as I posed the three (four) of them together.
It’s important to make photoshoots with your toddlers FUN. I want all the kids I photograph to have lots of fun during the session, not for it to be boring. Logan loved being by the creek and getting to throw sticks and rocks into the water. I think that was his favorite part of the session, but he definitely also loved picking flowers for his Mum when we were in the fields. When I asked if he was ready to go see the bluebonnets, while we were still by the creek, he said “I’m okay right here!” as he collected more stones to toss, haha.
Desiree & Bryan, thank you both so much for asking me to be a part of this special time in your lives. I feel so honored to have been the one to capture these memories of your family. I know it was really important to you both to have photos with Logan before your little girl arrives. Logan is such a gem, and I am sure he will be so excited to finally meet his new little sister. You’re such an amazing family and it was so great getting to meet and know you all. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed being there to capture them!
Wow, Bryan, Deiree and Logan, congratulations on your growing family. Gorgeous location session. Great job Maegan.
