May Family | Cedar Park, Texas

It was a gorgeous day; the weather was perfect! The sky was clear, and you could tell it was going to be such a beautiful golden hour for the May family. I couldn’t be happier that they got a stunning sunset for their photos; it was the ultimate way to end this amazing session.

When planning this session with Travis and Rebecca over email, I was beyond excited to meet them. Rebecca did amazing at planning outfits for the family! I absolutely loved what everyone wore. I always love when you can tell the parents have thoroughly prepped the kids for the photoshoot. Both kids were so polite and excited for photos!

Maggie was the most adorable, sweetest girl. She was happy to do anything she was asked and naturally looked amazing in every single shot! A talent she’s had since she was an infant I was told, haha. Maggie also was an amazing help with her little brother, without even being asked. Miles is the kindest, funniest boy ever. He was a little shy at the beginning, but still happy to pose with everyone. He loves cuddling with his Mum and Dad. Maggie was great at jumping in and helping Miles feel less shy. He was so great in front of the camera and had everyone giggling.

Rebecca and Travis were so sweet together. It’s always great seeing couples simply being loving with one another. It was easy to see where Maggie and Miles got their kindness from – both Travis and Rebecca. They are an amazing team as parents, and perfect together as a couple.

As I was photographing this session, I was overly excited to get home and get their sneak peek released. Every single shot we set up, I fell in love with. Towards the end as we did shots in the field with the sun setting behind them… I almost started jumping up and down.

This session is truly what photographer’s dreams are made of!

People often ask me why I chose photography as my career choice. That story can be found on my about page. However, not many people ask me how I chose families and children to be my main focus. I chose to focus on families and children because of amazing families like this. I love getting to be a part of their milestones; getting to know and grow with the families I photograph, year after year.

There is something so special about meeting families and it seems as though you’ve known them for years. Feeling as though you’re a part of another family’s happiness is something so spectacular. It’s hard to even put in words.
