Epps Maternity Photoshoot | Pflugerville, Texas

I was very excited to get to work with this beautiful couple for their maternity session! Getting to meet and work with Shai and Xylan was amazing. They are such a sweet and fun couple. This is their first baby, and you could tell how excited they were for her to finally arrive!

Shai and Xylan moved here from Mississippi. Getting to meet other people who have moved to Texas from all over is always fun for me. One of the things I love most about Austin is that it’s a melting pot of people from all over. It reminds me of being home; getting to meet so many people from all over who have come together in one place.

When planning this session, Shai expressed how much she loved trees and having them be a part of their location. Pflugerville park doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves for it’s diverse beauty. There are so many different aspects of this park that are fantastic for photos. My three favorite places are the rock ledge where you get a really beautiful view of the water, trees, and rocks all in one dramatic shot. The other fantastic part of this park is a little wooden fence that sits in front of a field that the sun sets behind. Then you have the bridge that’s around the corner, and it’s so beautiful. What more could you ask for from one little park? :)

Shai looked so beautiful in her maxi dress. The colour was perfect for all the greens behind them, and photographed wonderfully. I love that she chose to wear a flower crown as an accessory; it’s always a great addition to an outfit. Xylan looked fantastic in his button-up and dress pants! Navy blue and grey is always a good idea for men as it is perfect year-round, and leaves so many options for what women are able to wear as a complimentary colour.

Epps family, thank you for hiring me to be a part of this special milestone in your lives. It was truly an honor getting to meet and work with you both. You both are amazing people inside and out, and I sincerely look forward to working with your family again in the future! I couldn’t be more excited for you both to have your little girl arrive.
