Cheers to the men who book a photoshoot for themselves! It has been so many years since Brian and I got to collaborate together for a photoshoot due to being in different countries. I couldn’t have been more excited that we were finally in the same place at the same time! Brian and I have known one another since we were young teenagers. He was always active, and learning something new. I was always the girl at the skatepark with the camera.
When he initially got into parkour back when he was 15, he asked me if I would take some photos of him. It was a lot of fun and completely different to what I had been shooting. A few year later when we were both back home on break from Uni, we got together and shot again. That second session was back in 2012 and still has some of my favorite images in it! By that time Brian had started to do martial arts tricking.
Brian was actually one of the first individual males I photographed; it’s crazy to think of how much we both have grown since then! Fast forward seven years – Brian has now graduated from Art Uni with a degree in graphic design, still doing martial arts tricking (and is seriously talented in both) and now living back in Cayman. We both have moved around the world, and managed to keep in touch through our world travels and life changes. I couldn’t be more proud of my friend and the man he’s grown into today.
Brian is dedicated to everything he puts his mind to. If he wants to achieve something, he goes after it with every ounce of ambitious he has. He is a hardworking and kindhearted person! I feel honored to call him a friend, someone I consider family. He’s the type of person who is always there when you need him, and is always able to make you laugh. He is the type of person that makes the most out of every situation. I don’t know how he does it, but regardless of the circumstances he’s given – he always comes out the other side of a situation better than before.
As special as this was getting to work with such an incredible friend of mine; getting to have my extremely talented younger cousin a videographer and drone master work along side me, made this session that much more special. My cousin, Noah, got up at the crack of dawn with us all and was such an awesome sport. I was so happy to have him with me on an early Sunday morning making my vision for this session come to life. Only dedicated, talented, and special seventeen year olds would be willing to do that! Noah captured some awesome behind the scene videos, along with some great videos of Brian doing martial arts tricking. He also brought his drone along to capture some really awesome footage from above with Brian and his beautiful BMW. I cannot wait to share all of the footage with you all in the coming weeks. You can check out all of his amazing work on his website!
Noah, thank you for always being such an awesome kid. You are now a young adult and I simply have no idea where the time has gone. You are one extremely talented guy and I could not be more proud that you are my family. You are going places! Anything you set your mind to, you will be great at; that is a fact. You have so much love and support behind you! Your family is forever cheering you on. I cannot wait to see where you are with your career in the coming years!
Brian, thank you so very much for letting me take the reigns on this session and plan it out fully. I really can’t explain in words how very special it is to have clients who trust and believe in your vision when you’re a photographer. I know as a graphic designer, you can understand the value that comes with that trust from clients. It really means a lot that you’ve been on this journey with me and my work since the very beginning. I’m very proud of us both for what we have achieved and overcome in life. You are such an incredible person and I hope that you can appreciate how far you’ve come of course in the last seven years, but especially in the last year! I look forward to working with you again; lets not wait so long next time! Additionally, you truly make modeling look so incredibly easy; I have no idea how you do it…
Ok, so, WOW! I know Bryan as Maegan’s friend and am so proud of you both with your talent and words and Bryan your strength physical and emotional, just thrilled to see this. Noah too can’t wait to see the rest from Noah. Guys, please don’t stop being creative you all ROCK on the ROCK! Sorry couldn’t resist. Love this !
