Beautiful Ruby is ONE! :)

Getting to be a part of this family all being together in one place to celebrate Ruby turning one was such an honor. Being a part of milestones like these is one of my favorite part of family photography.

Unfortunately, it was a fairly chilly and overcast day for this session but the Flook family were champs! Everyone still had a lot of fun and enjoyed getting to spend the morning together. What better way to celebrate such a sweet little girl than all together at a local park?!

It was amazing getting to meet this family. They’re all so very kind and fun to be around and work with. It’s easy to see how smitten David and Jillian are with Ruby; who wouldn’t be?! Getting to see the grandparents all together for these photos as well was precious. Ruby was having loads of fun getting to snuggle with everyone, and laughing at her Pawpaw as he stood next to me being goofy for her to giggle! Ruby also loved switching between her other grandparents, Sugar & Papou. (By the way, I love nicknames for family members – having these included by Jillian on her form made me smile! My family has nicknames for everyone as well and it’s the best.)

Ruby is so beautiful, inside and out! I loved her curiosity with all the plants around the park. I love the excitement for independence kids have at this age. Wanting to stand up on their own, and sit by themselves instead of being held. Getting to see their excitement when they get to be on the ground and do their own thing is too adorable. Ruby did love getting to hold her mum & dad’s hand and stand, giggling and walking with them. But as much as she did love her newly discovered independence, she really did love being snuggled up with everyone in their arms. Seeing her smile so big for each and every family member was too sweet. She is surrounded by so much love, and so many amazing people.

When I work with families, I love taking the time to be sure I get all variations of group shots during the session. It’s important to me that each couple gets some photos together, with and without their kiddos. Siblings, parents, parents and siblings, etc. all of these are such important memories to capture for everyone to have.

The most important and cherished moments in life are those spent with loved one. Celebrating every second you have with one another is what really matters. These are the memories we hold onto not just as children, but as adults as well. I take the job of photographing those times, giggles, snuggles, and kisses very seriously. It’s precious to have those frozen in a photo and be able to look back on for years to come.

Flook family, you are all so very sweet! Thank you for asking me to be a part of this milestone in Ruby’s life, and all of your’s. Ruby is the sweetest little girl. I couldn’t be happier that we got so many photos of her smiling and giggling for you all. She knows that she is so very loved by you all!! Getting to work with you all was a blast. I enjoyed every moment, it was a great way to spend a Sunday morning! I hope you love these photos as much as I loved being a part of capturing them for your family. It was so difficult to narrow down the images for this post. You have so many beautiful photos to go through!
