Evan and Karah’s Engagment Photoshoot | Austin, Texas

It’s official, Evan and Karah are engaged! When Karah told me the news, I couldn’t have been more excited to be a part of photographing this beautiful milestone for them both.

Karah was one of the first people I became friends with when I moved to Texas. When she first introduced me to Evan I instantly loved them together. The three of us quickly became friends and have been inseparable ever since.

As the years have quickly passed us by, it was easy to see that they are sincerely the best fit for each other. You often hear people say that you should be with someone who is your best friend, well Evan and Karah definitely followed that advice. They have been best friends for fifteen years and have been dating for over six years now!

To say that I am thrilled for them both is an understatement. It isn’t easy to find someone at such a young age and to grow together rather than a part as you become an adult and truly figure out who you are. To see Evan and Karah find that with one another is truly special and I cannot wait for their wedding day.

When planning the shoot I wanted to make sure we had the perfect location for them. We talked through lots of ideas and decided on booking the Sekrit Theater. Of course Austin had plans of its own… We had yet another snow storm the week of their session. If you look closely in some of the photos, very few, you can see small piles of snow that still hadn’t melted yet haha. Thankfully it cleared up enough for us to move forward with the session. On the day of, even though it was still freezing out we had such a beautiful sunny evening!

When planning your session, I always want to make sure that we showcase your personality and interests. Whatever they may be. For Karah and Evan, including whisky in their photos was a fun way to celebrate them and their engagement. Karah also brought fresh flowers which I think is a perfect prop addition for any and all sessions.

Evan and Karah, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of capturing these gorgeous photos for you both to look back on and cherish for years. I sincerely feel so honored to have gotten to watch you both over the years only continue to grow as individuals and as a couple. I cannot wait for the wedding and am truly overjoyed for you both to continue on this journey with each other. Wishing you both all the love and happiness!
