Margarita & Chris’ Engagement Session | Austin, Texas

When Margarita contacted me to tell me that she was engaged, I couldn’t have been more excited for her and Chris! I haven’t photographed them in quite a while as they’re always busy having new adventures all over the world. The last time I photographed them was back in 2015 for their Christmas photos. Where has the time gone?! I love my clientele family, and being a part of the new chapters in their life always makes me feel so honored.

I love that they included their pup, Tux again! Unfortunately, Tux isn’t going to be able to be a part of their ceremony. This made it very important to them to have him included in their engagement session. Having two pups myself, I completely understand, they are family too after-all! Tux is such a sweet pup and was a great model throughout the entire session.

This session turned out so beautifully. I forgot how much I love morning light! Morning sessions this time of year are perfect as it isn’t too hot and the light is so pretty. When I sent over the list of location suggestions and she chose this park I was very excited. It’s been quite a while since I have shot at this park, but this time of year is so beautiful and full of greenery.

I asked Margarita if she’d be willing to write up their engagement story for me to share with you all. When I received the story, I wanted to share it in her own words as I love how she explained every emotion and detail; I wouldn’t change a thing.

“It was beautiful evening on a Tuesday, March 27th a month before our third year anniversary.

While I’m getting ready to have some dinner out. Chris is playing with our beagle in our bedroom. I came in the room one of my favorites songs starts playing and Chris pulled me out to dance with him, We are dancing and suddenly Chris kneels and bring his hand to his pocket. Chris opens the box I gave him a big kiss and a bear hug, follow with ‘ YES! I do!’.

SIDE NOTE.. Can we discuss how happy I was when I saw their outfits? I sincerely loved the dress that Margarita chose; she mentioned before we started that it included their wedding colours! Making your session personal to you is so important and a lot of fun. Also, Chris wearing a shirt that complimented her dress, but didn’t match was perfect. Complimenting soft colours are always winners when it comes to your photography session. When you match with one another you tend to blend into one another. I also think it’s nice to allow each person in the photo to be able to express their own style by the colour or style of outfit they wear.

Margarita and Chris, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of this milestone in your life & relationship. It means so much to me! I am immensely happy for you both. Wishing you both so much happiness and love. I look forward to working with you both in the future. I know the wedding will be gorgeous!
