It feels as though just the other day it was the beginning of 2018… I’m not quite sure where this year went, but it was definitely an amazing year!
As tradition would have it, I had to come up with yet another idea for my own holiday photos this year. Every year my pups are the models for my cards. This year, my fur babies did it again! They made all my crazy holiday photo dreams come true. I took it to a new level and I can’t wait for all my clients to get their own personal (slightly late) Christmas cards!
When I was trying to decide what to do for this year’s card, I can’t lie – I was torn between so many options I had come up with. I went back and forth with them for quite a while — hence my own cards going out late, whoops! I always keep my cards fun and a little goofy. Of course dogs make everything adorable, so I had that easily covered. :) I finally decided to do something fairly different this year.
I am always so proud of my girls for putting up with all my insane ideas each and every year. Don’t forget I put them through similar things for their birthdays too, haha. They are truly the best. Especially since these pajamas weren’t exactly made for dogs… haha. While taking these photos I had several people stop to compliment how well behaved they were, and of course how adorable they looked.
I had to share a few on here for everyone to enjoy as well. There are definitely too many funny, and adorable ones to all fit on one card. However, the perfect amount to share in a blog post!
Honestly, these may be some of my favorites yet…
This photo of the two of them snuggling is probably hands down one of my favorites from the entire shoot. They sincerely have so much love for one another! It makes me so happy when I catch them daily snuggling each other. :)
“This is how the humans pose, right?”
As I was thinking through all that has happened this year, I realized just how much I had to be grateful for. In the photography industry, sometimes it’s hard to separate work from your personal life. Even more-so to take time to stop and appreciate it all.
I’m so fortunate to have such amazing family, friends and clients. This year my client family grew even more than last year; which of course is always the goal. However, I was so happy to see just how much it grew. I can’t thank my clients enough for always recommending me to their family and friends. You’re all amazing, and I truly enjoyed meeting each and every new (and returned) family I worked with! Every family has their own story, getting to hear that story and be a part of their memories is something so incredibly special.
I would not love my job as much as I do if it wasn’t for all my amazing clients! You all truly make all the difference. I love helping make your photoshoot visions come to life, as well as helping you tell your story. Your kind words and referrals truly push me even more to strive to do my best, year after year.
This year, not only did my client family grow so much, but a lot of other things happened. I thought I would take a second to highlight a few…
MY COMPANY NAME CHANGED!
Some of you may remember that blog post, some may not have read it yet. I typically don’t get very personal on my blog posts. When I decided to change my name, I knew that it would be best to really share a very personal aspect of my life with you all. I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to learn more about me, and to understand the deep meaning behind my decision. :)
I TRAVELED TO CLIENTS – AND SOME TRAVELED TO ME…
This isn’t necessarily new, but it was truly an honor to have so much travel happen this year for my clients! It’s an extra special feeling when your clients want you to come to them to capture their special moments.
This year I got to travel to Grand Cayman (home to me), to photograph Alyson & Michael’s engagement session!
I also was so excited to have Samantha & Travis travel to me to photograph a series of engagement sessions for them. (Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3)
I PHOTOGRAPHED EVEN MORE NEW LOCATIONS
Like…. a private airport, a breathtaking park, a Christmas Tree Farm, a stunning Greenhouse, a hidden gem in Pflugerville, a gorgeous wedding in Lakeway, as well as a beautiful wedding at a private property!
I WELCOMED TO THE WORLD A FEW BEAUTIFUL NEWBORNS!
Newborns are simply the best… I loved each and every one of these babies and their sessions!
First there was Isabella – with her stunning blue eyes!
Then there was Jack with all his blonde hair!!!!
Of course there was also the beautiful Vivienne who is just too precious..
There are so many more amazing things that happened this year, simply too many to list. My photoshoots and my images would be nothing without my amazing clients, and my support team of family and friends. Thank you all so much for choosing me to photograph your families; whether it’s for the first time, or for your annual photos, I appreciate you all.
I’m so excited to now get to spend the next few days with my own little fur family and soak in all that we have accomplished this year.
I look forward to sharing more amazing portraits of families and children with you all in the new year!
