The Curtis family is back in front of my lens! Getting to be a part of this family’s yearly photoshoots is so very special to me. Meeting up with the Curtis family feels like you’re meeting up with good friends. One of the best parts is, getting to see Emma and Sam grow and change each year.
Emma is a natural in front of the camera. It’s easy to count on her to snuggle up with someone, give big smiles throughout the entire session, and hold hands without a second thought. :) She is such an amazing big sister to Sam and I love getting to see how much she truly cares about him. Sam is such a cutie! He loves to get to explore and run around with Emma. Sitting still isn’t his favorite, but it’s okay – his mum helped me find a new joke to tell him that got him laughing and sitting still. ;)
When Be mentioned doing their session this year at the capital I thought it was a fun idea. It can be quite busy in the evenings but the kids loved getting to run around in the grassy areas next to the capital and we had lots of beautiful trees to work with. It’s always important to me that family sessions feel like fun time together instead of a boring, dreaded hour for the kids. For younger kiddos, I find that it’s better to do some posed all together, and then let them be kids for a little bit as a break. When we go back to group photos I try to do more interactive fun ‘poses’ so that the kids are always enjoying themselves.
Curtis family, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of capturing another year of memories with your beautiful children. It’s such a pleasure getting to see and work with you all. You all looked amazing as always! David and Be, the love you have for one another and your children is extremely beautiful to see and watch unfold when you’re all spending time together. They have so much love for one another and it’s easy to see that it’s from the examples around them. :) I love being a part of such capturing memories for such a stunning family, inside and out. I cannot wait to see you all next year!
Love this session, what an awesome backdrop too. Cute family
