Hillenbrand Announcement Session | Georgetown, Texas

I couldn’t be more excited to get to share this sweet announcement session with the Hillenbrand family. I photographed this prior to the Shelter In Place orders. This was my LAST session prior to COVID-19 shut downs!

Michael and Lauren are sincerely the most kind hearted people. Getting to plan this session with Lauren, and then finally meet and work with them was truly amazing.

When Lauren first inquired and asked about bringing their adorable pups, Max and Schnitzel, I couldn’t have been more excited! As a fur mum myself, I always love when people want to include their pets in their sessions. These two were so well behaved.

I love that Michael and Lauren will get to look back at these photos and have these memories including their pups in their images to announce this exciting and special news to their friends and family.

The way that Lauren wrote out the sign is one of my favorites that I have ever photographed. Listing out their milestones as a couple is extremely sweet! I loved getting to photograph the sign with the pups, the baby shoes, and their ultrasound. These are some timeless props to include in an announcement session.

Choosing a location can always be hard. There are so many options here in the Austin area. I always try to have clients list out what features are really important to have included in their images. Do they want lots of grass and trees, or do they want water. If they’re bringing pets I try to suggest places that are actually less pet friendly regarding leash rules so that it’s easy to keep the pups focused. I also like to include places that aren’t as common so that your photos stand out; or better yet, are taken somewhere no one can recognize. :)

The white barn in Georgetown is one of my top favorite places for sessions, especially mini sessions. Driving up to it, you may think I’m slightly crazy… but once you’ve seen the photos I’ve taken in front of it, it’s hard not to want your own set of photos taken there as well. My favorite part is how neutral it is being white (rather than red), and how it has chipped paint, and even holes in the floor planking. It’s rustic, yet you can dress up or dress down for your photos here. When Lauren mentioned that they had chosen the barn, I was really excited. I knew it would be a great fit for the type of session they were having, and especially for the pups!

I also want to take a moment to personally thank Lauren for all she does as someone who works in the medical field. It’s a scary time to work in a hospital right now, and I appreciate all of those who are making such big sacrifices to help others during this pandemic. You are all appreciated and loved! Thank you for all that you are doing.

Hillenbrand family, thank you for asking me to be a part of this amazing milestone in your lives and relationship. I couldn’t be more excited for this new chapters in your lives. The love you have for one another is easy to see just by meeting you both and being around you. I can only imagine how very loved this little one is going to be by you both and your families. I look forward to working with you again. You guys are the best! I’m glad we were able to do this for you before the orders went into place. I appreciate all your patience! :)
