Happy First Birthday to Charlotte!!

It’s hard to believe that a little over a year ago I was meeting Dan and Michal for the first time to photograph their maternity session. When I met them for the first time, they already felt like close friends. We had so much fun capturing so many beautiful photos of them together. It was easy to see how excited they were to meet their little one!

A few months later, I got to meet her myself. The tiniest, beautiful little girl! When I arrived for their newborn session, I surprised them with a big luxurious chair and crown for fun new props. When your last name is Royal, you have to take advantage! ;) It’s easily one of my favorite newborn sessions to date. We bonded even more when I found out that they were fans of Manchester United! Now we’re family… Hahaha.

What I love most about my job as a milestone photographer is that our interactions didn’t end there. I got to work with them again to photograph Charlotte’s first Christmas as well as her six month stage! I love getting to see kiddos at six months! When you haven’t seen them since their newborn session, it’s fun to see how much they’ve grown and changed. You get to see them starting to grow into their own personality.

As COVID started to restrict the ability to photograph families, Michal and I were in touch throughout it all. We were heartbroken about not getting to photograph Charlotte’s first real bluebonnet season. All my mother’s day sessions never got to take place either, and we were getting concerned about her smash cake session. Thankfully, Texas was able to open up last week and the Royals are one of the first families I reached out to!

I rushed to get the floral hoop I had been planning to use this spring to have it ready for her session. I couldn’t be happier with how it came together. The flowers ended up being the perfect addition to Charlotte’s gorgeous lace outfit and her delicious strawberry cake! Where did this amazing cake come from? Michal made it the day before!!! I swear this family is magical. :)

Royal family, thank you SO much for letting me follow you guys along on this journey through Charlotte’s life. Writing this blog, reliving all these milestones got me a little emotional, I can’t lie. I love getting to follow you guys on social media so that I can ‘virtually’ be there for her other moments at home. When she started to crawl, her first steps – and all her new favorite things. You guys are AMAZING parents and people. Being around you and working with you is never short of fantastic and fun. I can’t wait to capture more memories for you to cherish for many years to come. I hope you love these as much as I do.
